Puzzle Notes

"Tears come from the heart and not from the brain" ~Leonardo da Vinci

Greetings Subscribers,

After a long, cold winter, the warm breezes of spring are most welcome -- so much so that they move me to tears. Yes, my allergies have kicked in, and one might find me tearing up in a park -- either moved by the beautiful cherry blossoms or succumbing to pollen. Perhaps that's why today's puzzle is inspired by things that move us to tears. I'll say no more, lest I end up crying on your collective shoulders.

This past week marked a puzzleversary for me, a small milestone: on Thursday, The New Yorker published my 100th puzzle in the magazine. Many of you are New Yorker subscribers, and I THANK YOU for making the crossword feature a success. Five years ago we started as a once-per-week diversion; this expanded to five puzzles per week, with crosswords ranging from challenging to beginner-friendly. We appreciate your interest in the crosswords we publish here at Crossword Nation, and across the markets!

Now, back to the cruciverbal business at hand . . . welcome to Week 621 of Crossword Nation. We cordially invite you to solve "Hidden Tear-Jerkers" as your featured crossword. Happy Solving!

Be well and thank you for supporting our little puzzle shop. Until next time, I remain . . .

Cruciverbally yours,

Liz

Solvers of The New Yorker puzzles: Please check out my latest crossword, a "beginner-friendly" affair.

Mini Crossword Aficionados: For a quick solve, please try the Daily Mini Crossword in the L. A. Times. It's free! Simply bookmark and visit daily for a new puzzle.

Recovering Lost Puzzles: If, for some reason, our weekly puzzle email doesn't appear in your mailbox on Monday evenings, no worries -- you can always "re-send" the puzzle to yourself.

But first ....

  1. Please check the Spam folder. Sometimes the Crossword Nation emails are redirected to Spam folders. This can happen after a software or system update. If it's not in the Spam folder, then try Step 2.
  2. Visit the Subscriber Portal and Re-send the Puzzle To Your Mailbox. You can always send the latest puzzle (or any puzzle from our archive) to yourself. Visit here:

https://xwnation.puzzleanywhere.com/enable-account/

Choose the "Resend Puzzle" link at the bottom right of the page. From there, you can choose which puzzle to send to your mailbox!
