Puzzle Notes

"Anytime I feel lost, I pull out a map and stare. I stare until I have reminded myself that life is a giant adventure, so much to do, to see" ~Angelina Jolie

Dear Subscribers,

I love maps. Always have -- starting with the colorful 7-foot, pull-down maps our geography teacher pointed to in middle school. Before the Internet changed the way we researched puzzles, I looked forward buying a brand-new World Almanac each year. The map section never disappointed. I'd dog-ear the map pages while researching world and state capitals, rivers, bays and straits. I was intrigued by countries, their shapes, borders and neighbors. In crosswords, we've often seen ATLAS punnily clued as "Country store?" But that's exactly what I loved about an atlas -- a map collection that allowed you to carry the world in your knapsack. It inspired many a puzzle, including our newest offering.

Welcome to Week 665 of Crossword Nation. We cordially invite you to solve "High Country Favorites" as your diversion of the week.

Thank you for subscribing to our little shop of puzzles. If you enjoy this crossword, please give it a good rating on Amy Reynaldo's site. Your positive vibes help us stay strong and independent!

Cruciverbally yours and with respect,

Liz
