Captain James T. Kirk: [to Mr. Spock] “I suspect you're becoming more and more human all the time.”
Mr. Spock: “Captain, I see no reason to stand here and be insulted."
Greetings, dear Subscribers. I hope that you’re savoring the last few hours of the July 4th weekend. We enjoyed a beautiful fireworks show here, complete with some delightfully-surprising pyrotechnics from atop the Empire State Building. Instead of traveling, we stayed close to home and had a little picnic in Central Park.
As I was making this week’s puzzle, I realized that I’d never used 11-Down in a crossword before (at least, I don’t recall doing so). In researching the clue angle, I hurtled through a galaxy of Spock quotes and Internet memes, many of them gems. It felt fitting to launch tonight’s proceedings with one of Spock’s classic lines.
