Captain James T. Kirk: [to Mr. Spock] “I suspect you're becoming more and more human all the time.

Mr. Spock:Captain, I see no reason to stand here and be insulted."

Greetings, dear Subscribers. I hope that you’re savoring the last few hours of the July 4th weekend. We enjoyed a beautiful fireworks show here, complete with some delightfully-surprising pyrotechnics from atop the Empire State Building. Instead of traveling, we stayed close to home and had a little picnic in Central Park.

As I was making this week’s puzzle, I realized that I’d never used 11-Down in a crossword before (at least, I don’t recall doing so). In researching the clue angle, I hurtled through a galaxy of Spock quotes and Internet memes, many of them gems. It felt fitting to launch tonight’s proceedings with one of Spock’s classic lines.

Welcome to Week 527 of Crossword Nation. For your immediate consideration, we present “Oh, You!” as your diversion of the week. Have a happy week and stay cool!

Cruciverbally yours,

Liz
