Well, Hoop-de-Doo!

Puzzle Notes

Greetings Friends,

The neat thing about themed crosswords is: we needn't know a thing about the theme in order to crack, solve and enjoy the puzzle. More often than not, the theme inspires an entirely different level of wordplay, executed in an unparallel universe.

For instance: the title may suggest that the puzzle is about cars, but it's really about anagrammed cruciferous vegetables. Or: you might be expecting a Shakespearean theme, only to discover that the gimmick revolves around inductees into the National Gourd Hall of Fame. If the title seems a little fishy -- it may be a red herring!

Welcome to Week 549 of Crossword Nation. We humbly invite you to solve "Well, Hoop-de-Doo!" as your offering of the week.

Thank you for subscribing, for renewing and for being a Prime Time Monday night friend.

Until next time, I remain . . .

Cruciverbally yours,

Liz
