FantAStic Five!
Puzzle Notes
Greetings Friends,
Today's puzzle draws inspiration from diverse pools of knowledge: game shows, education, elite sports, film. The theme, a straightforward one but with a lot of grid real estate, is held together by a simple unifying element. Because of the funky theme lengths, it was necessary to call on the full complement of crossword tools: fill-in-the-blanks, partials, alphabetic runs, a poetic pause, a bar fight souvenir, upholstery materials, Vegas dice rolls, a Mongolian capital, a Hitchcock thriller, a set of symphonic poems by a Czech composer and a life-saving technique you can use should you fall into a moat.
It's another "regular" day at the crossword grid!
Welcome to Week 556 of Crossword Nation. We cordially invite you to solve "FantAStic Five!" as your puzzle of the week. Have a great solve!
