Du The Right Thing!

Puzzle Notes

Greetings Friends,

"Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment" ~Benjamin Franklin

I suspect that Ben Franklin would have offered special counsel about the temptations of emails and texts, and how easy it is to write recklessly and press: SEND. Back in the days of pen, paper, ink, envelopes and stamps -- the act of writing on paper slowed us down. It gave us time to think about what we wanted to express and -- in the case of harsh words -- whether it was worth saying at all.

To hold my emotions in check, I keep a "Think Before You Send!" sticky note at my keyboard. It forces me to pause before I hit SEND on that workplace-destabilizing, family-disrupting, career-ending, friendship-ruining email. I try not to write emails late at night because by morning I've forgotten the previous night's frustrations which were probably exacerbated by lack of sleep, the news of the day and too much coffee. "When in doubt . . . wait" -- is, for me, a good editorial rule of thumb.

But there's no need to wait for tonight's puzzle! Welcome to Week 563 of Crossword Nation. You are cordially invited to solve "Du The Right Thing!" as your cruciverbal offering of the week.

Please stay safe and be well, dear Friends.

Thank you for subscribing and for re-upping! Until next time, I remain . . .

Cruciverbally yours,

Liz
