Bond ... James Bond

Puzzle Notes

Dear Friends,

I hope that you're enjoying this Independence Day weekend! We chose to stay close to home and sample some sights of the city -- the Met Museum, the Intrepid Museum and a some boat trips around the Hudson and New York Harbor. (How the skyline has changed in the past 10 years!) Today I'm hanging out at home, trying to unplug from devices, play some tennis, watch a few Wimbledon matches. And chill.

Because some folks may have tomorrow off from work, we offer a more-difficult-than-usual "Tuesday" puzzle that may require extra solving time. The theme's architecture was inspired by the 49-Across I'd read about in a novel about a Peruvian family. I spied a connection that led to the theme. I hope that, after a few passes at the clue list, the title will make sense of it all.

Welcome to Week 579 of Crossword Nation. You are cordially invited to solve "Bond ... James Bond" as your crossword of the week. Happy Fourth of July to all!

Thank you for solving, subscribing and re-upping. Until next time, I remain . . .

Cruciverbally yours,

Liz
