Breaking Story

Puzzle Notes

Greetings Subscribers,

One of my bucket list items involves going to Argentina for a month to immerse myself in learning the tango. It would be a physically-demanding eight-hour-a-day dance seminar where we’d learn how to stand tall, lunge, glide, pivot, twirl and dip. There will be pulled muscles, blisters and embarrassing falls (and that's only Day One), but I’m there for it!

Such tango-immersion fantasies emerge every summer, around this time. The days are hot and sticky and one chooses the the same few clothing items that don’t stick to your back when you’re riding the subway. The modesty of June is gone – the fewer clothes on the body, the better.

When I work on puzzles at night, I turn down the lights and listen to the “Gotan Project” channel on Pandora. The passionate tango music is just right for high summer. The staccato accordion beats and sizzling dance rhythms transport me to a parallel ballroom and will hold me over until I can get to Argentina.

Today’s puzzle was inspired by “Between Two Kingdoms,” a deeply-thoughtful memoir by a young woman who makes an appearance herein. Her story brings to mind parallel worlds, dreams and chapters that have yet to be written.

Welcome to Week 583 of Crossword Nation. We sizzlingly invite you to solve “Breaking Story” as your crossword of the week.  Stay cool and tango!

Thank you for solving, subscribing and re-upping. Until next time, I remain . . .

Cruciverbally yours,

Liz
