"Now We're Cooking With Gas!"
Puzzle Notes
Greetings Subscribers,
The phrase “Now you’re cooking with gas!” dates back to the 1930s when gas-powered stoves were being promoted as new-and-convenient cooking appliances. The phrase has evolved to the self-improvement space: when our performance shifts from “average” to “excellent,” it’s said that we’re now “cooking with gas.”
Drawing on inspiration from an event that took place a few days ago, today’s puzzle theme may not be obvious from the get-go. But stick with it, and pretty soon you’ll see the common thread shared by five themers!
Welcome to Week 589 of Crossword Nation. We invite you to solve “Now We’re Cooking With Gas!” as your diversion of the week. Happy Solving!
Thank you for solving, re-upping and for supporting our little puzzle shop! Until next time, I remain . . .
Cruciverbally yours,
Liz
