Winter Pun-derland

Puzzle Notes

Dear Subscribers,

It's a holiday week and I wish you all good things as you gather with family and friends for Hanukkah and Christmas.

This week's puzzle has a higher difficulty level and a longer solving time. To that end, we hope you'll throw an extra log on the fire and pour yourself another double martini. One must hydrate throughout the winter!

The theme required expansion to a 15x16 size and inclusion of a two-letter centerpiece. That came about after I tried to shmush the theme into a 15x15, only to end up with a chaotic mess.

We moved around the furniture in order to accommodate a recurring holiday guest: the dreadful pun. If you can stomach a gut-wrenching pun about a traditional holiday figure, I will be most appreciative.

Welcome to Week 603 of Crossword Nation. We humbly invite you to solve "Winter Pun-derland" as your holiday diversion of the week.

We wish you and yours Happiness, Peace and Blessings of the Season.

Until next time, I remain . . .

Cruciverbally yours,

Liz
