Puzzle Notes

Dear Subscribers,

“To attain knowledge, add things everyday. To attain wisdom, remove things every day” ~Lao-Tzu

The nice thing about dealing with a medium that involves lots of three-letter answers is that we get to feature LAO in a fill-in-the-blank clue, such as: [___-Tzu]. The Chinese philosopher, Lao-Tzu, is credited with the founding of Taoism. I am ever inspired by the quotes attributed to him. He doesn't appear in today's puzzle, but I thought his teaching about knowledge and wisdom hits all the right notes.

As for our latest crossword: Since many of us are staying put after a busy holiday season, today's theme evokes a homey atmosphere. Cuddle up with a gift from grandma (48-A) and a hot pot of coffee (57-A).

Welcome to Week 606 of Crossword Nation. We invite you to conquer "Split-Level Home" as your challenge of the week.

I wish you a fantastic January. And thank you for supporting our little crossword shop!

Until next time, I remain . . .
