"I watch a lot of baseball on the radio"~Gerald R. Ford

Dear Subscribers,

Some novels are best interpreted by a reader's brain. "The Great Gatsby" is one of them. Though Hollywood has tried to recreate "Gatsby" on screen, I still prefer the version created by my imagination. I like that every reader perceives the novel through a specific lens -- an imaginative version that is uniquely their own and that can never be fully understood by anyone else.

My approach to baseball is somewhat similar. Sometimes I'd rather listen to a game on the radio and imagine the action on the field via the broadcast booth. This is especially effective on a hot summer night, stretched out on the couch. Lights off, drink at hand. The announcer's voice, the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd. Aah! It's the kind of magic that inspired today's offering.

Welcome to Week 618 of Crossword Nation. We present "Hit Parade" as your diversion of the week. Have a great solve!

Be well and thank you for supporting our little puzzle shop. Until next time, I remain . . .

Cruciverbally yours,
