"Sí Señor!"
Puzzle Notes
Greetings Subscribers,
If you live in a hot and humid area of our world, please stay cool and hydrate. To beat the oppressive NYC heat, I've retreated to higher elevations. I've been frequenting The Cloisters, the upper-Manhattan branch of the Metropolitan Museum that overlooks the Hudson River. While taking a course in drawing there, I came across this observation by Henri Matisse:
What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter…a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.
This struck me as a perfect way to describe what, to my mind, a crossword should be: a balanced, soothing diversion that provides relaxation and calm. While it's true that some crosswords can be brainbusters -- the solver should feel better, not worse, after completing the puzzle. I hope that's the case here ... but you, Dear Solver, are the judge of that!
Welcome to Week 633 of Crossword Nation. We present "Sí Señor!" as your sizzle of the week. Happy solving!
Be well and thank you for supporting our little puzzle shop. Until next time, I remain . . .
Cruciverbally yours and with respect,
Liz
