Wacky Triple Plays

Puzzle Notes

Dear Friends,

I hope all is well with you. After a hot-and-humid summer of insomnia and erratic sleep patterns, the cool September nights allow for better sleep and a renewed appreciation for Bach's "Goldberg Variations." My mood was lifted this week by an International Business Times article about influential crossword creators. It's an honor to be included on a list with the incomparable Margaret Farrar.

This week's puzzle celebrates that rare baseball game event - the triple play. When perfectly-executed, the triple play is poetry in motion, and a beautiful thing to behold. Our cruciverbal triple plays, however, are decidedly kookier and less poetic!

Welcome to Week 642 of Crossword Nation. We invite you to solve "Wacky Triple Plays" as your cruciverbal challenger of the week. Happy solving and thank you for subscribing to our weekly puzzle.

Until next time, I remain . . .

Cruciverbally yours and with respect,

Liz
