"I'm just here to spill the tea and eat the scones" ~sign in a coffee shop, Hudson, NY

Dear Friends,

Greetings! After solving today's high-fiber workout, you will have earned a treat, like -- tea and scones.

Julia Child is often cited as the author of this quote: "A birthday party without 38-Down is just a meeting." (See today's puzzle for 38-Down). Though scholars find no evidence that she ever said that ... it's consistent with something she would have said.

Which brings to mind a quote attributed to Yogi Berra: "I really didn’t say everything I said." That, in my view, takes the cake.

Welcome to Week 672 of Crossword Nation. We cordially invite you to solve "Veggie-mania!" as your diversion of the week. Happy Solving!
