This Year's New Neutrals!
Puzzle Notes
Dear Crossword Nation Friends,
When it comes to painting the interior of my home, I've made my share of dreadful, expensive mistakes. It took me two coats of primer to undo the pale pink debacle I'd created in my small New York City bathroom. I learned that pale pink -- in a small room -- looks like shocking-neon-bordello pink IRL. And the gray/green I'd envisioned in the eastern-facing living room had to be toned down twice with white paint, until the right shade emerged. Up and down the ladder I went, experimenting with new samples in morning, afternoon and evening light. Exhausting, but worth it because one has to live with said paint colors. That was a few years ago and it's time to paint again.
This time I'm playing it safe. Neutral paint colors -- deliciously-named Crème fraîche, Butter Croissant and Swiss Coffee -- are calling my name. I'm giving them a whirl. All those paint chips got me thinking about a puzzle.
Welcome to Week 713 of Crossword Nation, Please enjoy "This Year's New Neutrals!" as your colorful diversion of the week. Happy Solving and Be Well!
Cruciverbally yours and with respect,
Liz
