Puzzle Notes

"Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind"~Rudyard Kipling

Dear Crossword Nation Friends,

Why is it that, when we sit down to write a personal message in a birthday or holiday card, we struggle to find the right words for the occasion? And how gratifying is it to have found those words after a few false starts and deep cogitation (or a visit with ChatGPT)? We seem to spend our days looking for the right words to read, or write, or say. Perhaps that's why we're drawn to puzzles. These games insist that we search for an orderly set of words while trudging through thick clue-brambles of puns, dictionary words and misdirections. To that end, today's theme may take some sussing out, but it's in there. Let the word search begin!

Welcome to Week 726 of Crossword Nation. Please enjoy "Word Search!" as your diversion of the week. Be well and Happy Solving!

Cruciverbally yours,

Liz

P.S. We hope that you enjoy the Crossword Nation puzzles, and that you'll give them a good rating on Amy Reynaldo's site. Your positive ratings help us stay strong and independent!
